Napkin Sketch Social - Vasily Vasilenko's Watercolor Demostration!

We are glad to announce that Vasily Vasilenko, Lead Watercolor Illustrator of Genesis Studios, will be in attendance at tomorrow's event at Blank Space, creating a loose watercolor on location that will be given away to a lucky Young Architect in attendance!

Vasily Vasilenko has a BA in Architecture with a minor in Architectural Illustration from the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Fine Arts and Architecture in St. Petersburg, Russia. He has over 20 years of experience in Architectural design and illustration.

In addition to Genesis Studios, Mr. Vasilenko has been employed as a freelance illustrator and painter at numerous firms throughout Europe, including:

*Leon Wilnitsky Gallery - Austria
*Artist’s Union of St. Petersburg Exhibition Center

Vasily has been the recipient of numerous awards in his career including the ASAI 2005 and 2009 Award of Excellence. He has had numerous exhibits in the United States, Russia, Hanover, Germany, and Austria.

Napkin Sketching Social at Blank Space this Thursday!

The Young Architects will be meeting this Thursday, June 17th at 6PM at Blank Space Lounge to participate in Architectural Record's Cocktail Napkin Sketch Competition. Please join us for this social gathering to share ideas, napkins, pens, drinks and submitting our entries.

Blank Space is located at 201 E Cental Blvd in Downtown Orlando.

Join us for the opportunity to visit the Stenger Residence on 1906 Curry Ford Rd, as constrcution is well underway on this LEED project. Parking is available on Groveland Ave, but is limited, so please consider alternative transportation such as carpools or biking.

AIA Legislative Day 2010

On March 17th, AIA Florida hosted their yearly Legislative Day in Tallahassee, where local chapters had the opportunity to meet with their respective state representatives to discuss issues pertaining to the profession of architecture.
AIA Orlando sent a delegation composed of the local chapter state directors and the YAF Associate Director to represent architects and voice our concerns.

Archi-Film Night at RLF

The Young Architects will be meeting on Tuesday, March 23rd at 6pm at the RLF office in Winter Park to view three architectural short films: Jonathan Segal by Bread Truck Films, Miralles-Tagliabue by Binas Luna and The 3rd and 7th by Alex Roman. We would also like to use the opportunity to discuss potential ideas for 2010 and upcoming competitions. We hope to see you there!!!
